Ground Up Grains got an Arcobaleno Pasta Extruder and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

This bucatini is not your ordinary pasta, it’s made with their new Ancient Grains Pasta Flour! As a result, it has more nutrients than your average pasta (and is much tastier than a traditional whole wheat pasta). The flavor is rich and nutty with the perfect texture for a hearty sauce.

Notes from the Kellogg-Ceschini household:

• This is very filling. One package is 3 servings and while it doesn’t look like a lot, we were stuffed.
• Ancient grains are a lot easier to digest, due to the flour being as pure as possible. The increase in fiber and protein was what attracted us to this pasta.
• We were worried about the flavor… for absolutely no reason. We’ve had whole wheat pasta before and found it to have a bitter aftertaste. This tastes like barley, honestly, which is something we love in our house. No aftertaste whatsoever.
• The texture was satisfying.
• We recommend mixing your pasta with your sauce instead of serving separately. It took a little bit longer for the bucatini to absorb our marinara than traditional semolina bucatini does
